Ten young filmmakers and finalists for the Deutsche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Award 2022 put their cinematic storytelling to the test as they explore the theme “Facing Change”.


The ten filmmakers, Kristy Choi, Genie Deez, Adham Elnashai, Candace Ho, Desmond Levi Jackson, Halima Lucas, Wesley Rodriguez, Diante Singley, Kyle Sykes and Milky Tran, participated in an intensive four-month virtual program led by Ghetto Film School and Endeavor Content. They each produced five-minute narrative films in response to a brief centred around the theme of "facing change".

  • Ten young filmmakers and finalists for the Deutsche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Award 2022 put their cinematic storytelling to the test as they explore the theme “Facing Change”.

A jury comprised of leading figures in contemporary art and entertainment will select the Jury Award winner. Claudio de Sanctis, Head of the International Private Bank and CEO EMEA, will represent Deutsche Bank on the Jury. The public will be able to cast their votes and nominate their winner for the Audience Award with fellows standing to win a Jury Prize of $10,000 and an Audience Award of $2,500. 

 

This is the third year Deutsche Bank is supporting the Frieze Los Angeles Film Award for emerging filmmakers, in partnership with Ghetto Film School, Frieze and Endeavor Content.

Previous winners of the Deutsche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Award have been Silvia Lara in 2020 and John Rizkallah and Jane Chow in 2021.
