Art:LIVE from Frieze Seoul 2026
Frieze Seoul celebrates its fifth edition in 2026, and Art:LIVE, supported by Global Lead Partner Deutsche Bank, finds a fair continuing to evolve.
At the Arumjigi Culture Keepers Foundation, Hyeyoung Cho talks about the new curated section, Material Practice, which brings design- and craft-based works to the fair. Also premiering this year is the first Frieze Seoul edition of Spotlight, curated by Wonseok Koh, dedicated to twentieth century pioneers like Youngja Hwang: who tells Art:LIVE about why she makes dolls as well as paints.
After a year of turbulent weather, the theme of ecology is present throughout the week: as an issue addressed by Moon Kyungwon & Jeon Joonho’s installation at the fair, Mobile Agora (2002–24), and as one of the themes explored by British artist-designer Es Devlin’s debut exhibition in Korea at Futura Seoul, of which Art:LIVE is given a sneak peak.
Art:LIVE is a series of original video content that brings to the viewer accessible expert insights into recent developments in contemporary art and culture, produced in partnership with Frieze Studios.
