Deutsche Bank launches new “Cómo lo hice” entrepreneur awards in Spain

Deutsche Bank Spain collaborated with Forbes on the first edition of Cómo lo hice ("How I Did It"), an initiative created to acknowledge medium and large companies and the respective entrepreneurs behind them for making a positive impact in Spain.

The programme fits into the Spanish ‘Bank for Entrepreneurs’ offering, which supports entrepreneurs with tailor-made solutions, meeting both their business and private needs in an integrated approach via one single point of contact. In its first edition, which was crowned with a gala at the Four Seasons hotel in Madrid at the end of November 2023, a jury announced the best Spanish businesses and initiatives in the fields of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), family businesses, community entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, disruptive businesses, and youth entrepreneurship.

The ESG category evaluated the work of companies that had made a remarkable effort to reduce their impact on the environment in areas such as energy efficiency, carbon footprint reduction and the implementation of innovative waste management based on principles of circular economics, and crowned Quadpack Industries as best in class.

Next up, the jury selected HM Hospitales in the category for best development of a family business, a category that distinguishes those entrepreneurs not only who stand out for their career and excellence in their field of work, but also who have evolved and positioned themselves in the market and who serve as an example for future entrepreneurs.

"We believe the Cómo lo hice testimonials are an ideal platform to truly value all the effort and commitment of so many Spanish business families and their projects."

Head of Bank for Entrepreneurs, Deutsche Bank Spain

The Community Entrepreneurship Award then distinguished companies that had managed to establish themselves, rooted in sparsely populated or unindustrialized geographical areas, and in the end not only generating employment and wealth, but also reinvested in their immediate surroundings. Tvitec System Glass was named the winner for this category, a company located in El Bierzo and leading in the processing of architectural glass for buildings.

"When we launched the Bank for Entrepreneurs in Spain in 2021 in a geopolitical and macroeconomic environment characterised by change, one of our main objectives was to become the preferred partner of our clients. And we did so by facilitating the transition of their business to a more digitized economy with a growing focus on sustainability. We believe the Cómo lo hice testimonials are an ideal platform to truly value all the effort and commitment of so many Spanish business families and their projects,” says Juan de Gonzalo, Head of Bank for Entrepreneurs at Deutsche Bank Spain.
